Video Calling Facility in Medical College for Covid Patients

Now Covid Patients can video chat with their relatives and dear ones from Trivandrum Medical College Hospital. The facility is now available only for those who are underoing treatment for Covid 19.

The project is named as “Veettukaare Vilikkam” and it is inagurated by the Health Minister of Kerala Veena George.

The video calling facility is launched by the minister talking with a covid patient from Balaramapuram who is current under treatment in Medical College.

During the video call minister has conversed with the doctors of the Medical Team as well.

The project is made live by the support of Alumini Association of Medical College.

After the official inaguration of the project minister has stated that it for the well being of the covid patients the new project has been introduced.

About 3 person has been dedicated in the Medical College in offering the facility.

All covid wards will be provided with phones and tabs to continue with the facility.

How you can video chat with a Covid Patient in Medical College?

In order to have a video call to be initiated you need to send an sms with the details of the Covid patient currently undergoing treatment in Medical College Trivandrum.

Those who are booking will be able to chat with the patient at a specific time between 3 to 5 PM as an incoming call from Medical College.

Please note that this facility is not available for patient in ICU.

The facility is available from 26th June 2021 onwards.

Minister Shri Veena George has said that this facility will help the patients in relieving their mental stress while under going treatment for Covid 19 in Medical College Hospital, Trivandrum.

Medical Education Joint Director Dr. Thomas Mathew, Deputy Superintend Dr. SS Santhosh Kumar and alumni association representatives were also present during the inauguration.
