The Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is launching a series of special coaching classes for high school students to help widen their knowledge base and build a scientific temperament among them.
The classes will supplement science lessons taught in schools and the scheme supported by the District Institute of Education &Training (DIET) Trivandrum, which functions under the Kerala Department of Education.
The inaugural programme will be a day-long seminar titled ‘Sasthra Sameeksha’ to be conducted on Saturday, September 28, at the auditorium in Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.
The classes will be taken by reputed science teachers and will cover topics such as ‘Science in the Class & Home’, ‘Computer as an Educational tool’ and ‘The world of Science fiction’.
Each school can nominate three to five Class IX students and one science teacher, if they are interested, to take part in the programme. A total of 60 students will be enrolled in one batch.
