People love to read news online reveals Oxford study

A large-scale Oxford University report has found that more people are now willing to pay for online news or expecting to pay for it in future. The survey which was conducted among 11,000 internet users in 9 countries found that 25- to 34-year-olds are twice as likely to part with their cash for digital news than older readers. Of the 2,000 internet users surveyed in the UK, 9 per cent had paid for online news compared with only 4 per cent last year. The survey also revealed that for many, the mobile phone is the main way of accessing news when they are on the move.
