25-06-2013 : Crucial JD(S) meeting convened today and decided that there is no need of resignation of Jose Thettayil and the issue will be dealt politically. Mathew T Thomas has told that Jose Thettayil will be given political support by his party. The meeting was attended by Jameela Prakasam, CK Nanu and Neela Lohithadasan Nadar. All the MLAs had taken an unanimous decision that jose thettayil should be given a chance to prove his innocense.
LDF has also taken the decision that it is Janatha Dal to decide whether Jose Thettayil should resign or not
A woman from Angamaly has alleged that Jose Thettayil, MLA, and his son Adarsh Thettayil had sexually abused her over the course of a year. The father-son duo have been booked for non- bail able offence under IPC 376- sexual offence. Reacting on the charges made against him, Thettayil said he would face the case legally and said it was part of a ‘political conspiracy’ to tarnish his image. The Special Investigation Team led by Crime Branch superintendent of police Ajeetha Begum Sulthana took over the case from Aluva police and raided the apartment of the complainant at Chembakassery
