7 more trains will stop in Kazhakuttom Railway Station

Railway Divisional Manager has informed that 7 more trains will be stopping in Kazhakuttom Railway Station which has turned out to be a boon to people coming to Technopark as accidents in Kazhakuttom Railway Station is common. It was a long pending requests by techies to allow stops for more trains in the Railway Station.

Listed Below are the trains which will stop in Kazhakuttom Railway Station

16649 Mangalore Nagercoil Parasuram Express (Evening 5.54, 16650 Nagercoil – Mangalore Parasuram Express (Morning 6.38), 16526 Bangalore – Kanyakumari Island Express (Noon 2.38), 16525 Kanyakumari – Bangalore Express (Noon 1.13), 12698 Trivandrum – Chennai Express (Saturday Night 8.33), 16629 Trivandrum – Mangalore Malabar Express (Evening 6.42), 16303 Eranakulam Thiruvananthapuram Vanchinad Express (Morning 9.20).

Accidetns in the railway station was quite frequent as the trains were not able to cater to the travel needs of 40,000 people working in Technopark. Recently there were reports that due to the huge rush for the people to get in and out of the train from Kazhakuttom Railway station an officer working in Technopark got seriously injured. Trains will be stopping for 1 min in kazhakuttom and earlier stop was allowed only for 2 long distance traveling trains. Stops are not allowed for the inter-city train passing through Alapuzha.

  1. Though this is a good move, it is too little too late. I can’t understand why janashatabdi was excluded from the list, also trivandrum mail,

  2. Should consider to stop Jayanthi Janatha. So that the people from Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, Marthandam & Neyyattinkara will be benefited. Now there is no train for the people from these part in the morning towards Kazhakuttom.
