E-ticketing of movies started in Trivandrum

The traditional way of distributing tickets has been stopped and new way of movie ticketing has been started in Trivandrum. The newly introduced e ticket system has been inaugurated by B Ganesh Kumar in the Kairali Sree Theatre. This ticketing system has been started as a trial system which is part of the introduction of ticketing machines which will be introduced in all theaters in Kerala. Ticket are distributed for the noon-show of the movie Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty. Minister has given tickets during the matinee show of this movie. Cultural welfare board has undertaken this project of e-ticketing of movie tickets. G Suresh Kumar who is the board chairman and producers Gandhimathi Balan, and B Rajesh was there during the function. The new e-ticketing system will be introduced in all theater across kerala which will help the government to know exactly the income of each theater and the producers and distributors will be getting their profit divident in a better manner.

Keltron has provided laptops and machine for print outs for this e-ticketing system. Once a person get a ticket from the counter, the ticket has to be scanned by a scanner placed in the entrance of the theater. If the ticket you are holding is the right one then one can enter the theater. This scanner will help to identify whether this ticket is the new or old one. The information about collection is being stored in the computer so that the movie producers can check collection at any point of time. Cultural welfare board will be getting an amount of  3 rupees from each ticket which is being sold and an amount of  25ps will be given to keltron for each transaction. After the trial run is over some improvements for the system has been suggested. This e-ticketing system has been welcomed by those who came to watch the movie.
