The renowned playback singer TM Soundararajan is no more leaving a big space which cannot be replaced by any other musician or human being. The noted singer has left this world in his home in chennai at around 3.45 in the afternoon today (saturday). TM Soundararajan has been the voice of evergreen heroes of tamil film industry like MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan and world recognizes him for the same. The singer had made his debut in the film industry in the year 1950. His most famous songs were
Naan Aanayittal…., Enke Nimmathi…, Anthanal Njapakam…, Entha Maalikai…, Ponal Pokattum Poda etc.
The singer has also sung few songs in other south indian languages like Kannada and Malayalam but later on he had concentrated more on tamil songs. In the year 2003 he has been honoured by Indian Government by awarding him the Padmashree and the state government’s “Kalaimamani”. He had also made his mark in the field of devotional songs, acted in some films and has been producer of some tamil films. Voice modulation was his forte, allowing the veteran to sing for more than one person in a particular song in films such as “Bama Vijayam”, making him an instant household name among fans.
