TRINS gives French students an experience of Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 28: A group of schoolchildren were in the city this week to experience life and education in Kerala as part of a student exchange programme with the prestigious city-based Trivandrum International School (TRINS).

Seventeen high school students from the Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel School in Paris, under the guidance of Mr. Barry De’Souza, arrived at TRINS on October 20.

During their week-long stay they attended regular classes at TRINS and conducted French lessons for junior school and middle school students.

Among the important activities organised for them by TRINS were: visit to nearby government school as part of social service experience, a debate on ‘Devaluation and its impact on India’, lessons in Malayalam, and a Kathakali performance.

The French students also had a chance to stay at the homes of their TRINS partners for a day to experience life with an Indian family.

On Friday, they conducted assembly, where they presented a French song and a Malayalam rhyme.  They also actively participated in a food festival at TRINS, the proceeds of which were donated to charity.

The exchange students left for Paris on Friday.
