Kochi, May 22: A fortnight- long orientation programme, aimed at equipping the engineering aspirants with right mindsets for a professional course, has started at the TocH Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), at Mulanthuruthy near here. Inaugurating the course at the TIST campus on Monday, Prof. V. K. Damodaran, Chairman, Centre for Environment and Development, urged the students to develop communication, inter-personal and organisational skills along with technical knowledge to become successful professionals in their long life ahead. He also emphasised the need for adhering to professional ethics and commitment by an Engineer.
TIST has been conducting this two-week certificate programme for the engineering aspirants for the past eight years. Toc H Public School Society President, Prof. P J Joseph presided over the function. TIST Director Dr V Job Kuruvilla and Principal Dr Justus Rabi, among others, also addressed the students.
The college also provides hostel and transportation facilities for the students coming from distant places.
