Zonal competitions of “India Skills Kerala 2018” concludes

The four-day zonal competitions of ‘India Skills Kerala 2018’, jointly organised by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) across the state, concluded on Saturday (April 14).

The competitions, inaugurated by Labour, Skills and Excise Minister Shri T.P. Ramakrishnan here on April 11, were held in three zonal centres in the state, offering a platform for scores of youth to showcase their technical prowess and skills while vying for attractive prizes.

The highlights of Friday included competitions in the automobile (MMV) and Painting held at ITI Chackai, with 29 of the 38 registered contestants participating in the former.

While the Central Zone competitions were held at Government ITI, Chalakkudy, Malikkadavu Government ITI  in Kozhikode hosted the event in  North Zone.

Ten winners in each trade at the district-level are competing at the zonal level.

Winners and runners-up of each trade from the zones will compete at the three-day grand finale, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri  Pinarayi Vijayan at Marine Grounds, Kochi on April 28.

The winners at the state-level competitions will get Rs one lakh as prize money and the runners-up Rs 50,000. They will also get a trophy and a citation.

A consolation prize of Rs 10,000 will be given to the participants, who make it to the state-level competitions.

The event, the first to be organized on such a major scale in the state, offers a total of Rs 38 lakh as prize money for the winners.

The state-level winners will represent Kerala at the ‘India Skills 2018’ planned in July, which will pave the way for their participation in the 45th World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia in 2019.

Four-day Zonal competitions of “India Skills Kerala 2018” to begin from Wednesday  

The four-day zonal competitions of ‘India Skills Kerala 2018’, being jointly organised by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), gets underway from Wednesday (April 11)  in three centres in the state.

Labour, Skills and Excise Minister Shri T.P. Ramakrishnan will inaugurate the South Zone competitions at Govt. ITI, Chackai, Thiruvananthapuram. Mr. A Sampath, MP and Mr. V S Sivakumar,MLA, will attend.

Central Zone competitions will be kicked off by Shri B.D. Devassy, MLA at Govt. ITI, Chalakkudy while North Zone competitions will be inaugurated by Shri Babu Parassery, President, District Panchayat, Kozhikode, at Govt. ITI, Malikkadavu in Kozhikode.

The ten winners in each of the trades at the district-level are competing at the zonal-level. The list of district-level winners is available at www.indiaskillskerala.com. Winners and runners-up of each trade from the three zones will compete at the grand finale to be held at Marine Grounds, Kochi from April 28 to 30.

 The winner at the state-level competitions in each trade will get Rs one lakh as prize money and the runner-up Rs 50,000. They will also get a trophy and a citation. At the Thiruvananthapuram function on Wednesday, Shri Ramakrishnan will also give away cash awards and citations for the Best Principal, Best Group Instructor and Best Instructor in Govt. ITIs of the state during the 2017-18 academic year.

Awards will also be given to the student-winner of the all-India skill competition, state-level skill competition-winning trainees and their instructors.

Zonal  competitions of “India Skills Kerala 2018” from April 11 to 14

The four-day zonal competitions of India s  kills Kerala 2018, being jointly organised by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), will be held from April 11 to 14.

Inauguration of the South Zone competitions will be held at Govt. ITI, Chackai, Thiruvananthapuram while the Central  Zone competitions will be inaugurated at Govt. ITI, Chalakudy.  The North Zone competitions will be inaugurated at Govt. ITI, Malikkadavu, KoZhikode.  Labour, Skills and Excise Minister Shri. T.P. Ramakrishnan will inaugurate the South Zone competitions on April 11 at Govt ITI, Chackai.

Winners from the district-level competitions will be participating in the Zonal competitions. The list of district-level winners will be available at www.indiaskillskerala.com.

Zonal-level winners can participate in the state-level competitions to be held in Kochi from April 28 to 30.   The winner  at  the state-level will get Rs 1 lakh as prize money and the runner-up  Rs 50,000. Consolation prizes also will be given to the participants who make it to the state-level competitions.

India Skills Contest Begins

The three-day district-level competitions of India Skills Kerala 2018, being jointly organized by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), will commence today. The ITIs at Chackai, Attingal, Kazhakuttam, and Dhanuvachapuram in the district will be the competition centers.

According to Dr. Sriram Venkitaraman, who is also the Managing Director of KASE (Kerala State Nupunya Vikasana Mission), states that the competition event is being organised to select the most skilled persons from kerala on various trades who will compete in the 45th World Skills Competition to be held in Kazan, Russia in the year 2019 which will begin on Thursday, 22nd August and ends on Tuesday 27th August. 

Competition is being held in about 20 Trades and the best performer from each trade will compete in World Skills India at the National Level and those who come out victorious in those competition will get a chance to appear for the World Skills Competition.

The final state level competition will be held in Marine Drive on 28th, 29th and 3oth of April which will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan.

Besides, the restaurant and service skills competitions of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha regions will be held at BTC, Kollam.

The district-level inauguration will be held in the respective districts. Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Health Standing Committee Chairman Shri. K. Sreekumar will inaugurate the event at ITI, Chackai.

Thiruvananthapuram, March 29: The district-level competitions of India Skills Kerala 2018, being jointly organized by Industrial Training Department and Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), will be held on April 3,4 and 5.

As per the schedule, the restaurant and service skills competitions of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts will be held at BTC, Kollam. These competitions for  Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Palakkad districts will be held at Pallikkathode centre while Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur  districts  will have their competitions at Kalpetta competition centre.
