Goa, 26th November 2013: South American cinema made its presence felt at the 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) too. Two of its more talked films from the region which were screened here were ‘No Autumn, No Spring’ a film from Ecuador and ‘So Much Water’, a multi-country production set in Uruguay.
Ana Guevara director of ‘So Much Water’ said that the film revolved around a simple story.“My film is about a family that goes for holiday and then get caught in a series of events that unfold,” Guevara said. Leticia Jorge who was the joint director for the film said that funding was a major problem for film makers from the region.
“Funding is a big problem for us. It takes a lot of time to gather finance and have movies screened in theaters. There are good actors and technicians but this is a problem we need to get a solution to,”she said.
